Hi Marley, I’m glad you liked the piece. I’ve read a lot of Wendell Berry over the years, but I’d never read “The Hidden Wound” before. I agree about the use of “democracy”; we have never really been a democracy — not in keeping people from voting and not in terms of equal representation now. (BTW, I love that you shared the piece, but the quote at the top being attributed to me makes it sound as if that’s what I am saying!)
